Quote from "Outliers - The Stories of Success" Book

Just finished read this book. And I found something good to share. Its about how Malcolm Gladwell wrote his research and his thought. Before he wrote Outliers, he also wrote the first book The Tipping Point, and second is Blink. Will review it later ya :D

One of the commentator of this book said,

"The lessons of this book can be put into a brief sentence: success depends on a series of cultural and other factors that are mostly beyond your control – however, the thing that is totally within your control about success is how much effort you put in. And the more effort you put in the more likely you will be successful. They are directly proportional and we should all praise work as the key thing that really makes us human."

I do agree with that. In this book he conclude one thing and I only nodding when I read the sentence "Practice isn't the thing you do once you're good. It's the thing you do that makes you good". Then he continued in other story, “It is those who are successful, in other words, who are most likely to be given the kinds of special opportunities that lead to further success. It’s the rich who get the biggest tax breaks. It’s the best students who get the best teaching and  most attention. And it’s the biggest nine- and ten-year-olds who get the most coaching and practice. Success is the result of what sociologists like to call “accumulative advantage.”

Again, I re-read that sentence then make an underline under the statement as a stars, but I stopped at "accumulative advantage". How can he define the accumulative advantages? I agree. Totally agree. But I have second opinion, success for me is not only accumulative advantage, it is increment of big effort, serious intention, hardy and never give up to try more and more also the-x factor. What is the-x factors? Its God's hand and plans. Success for me is easy to spell rather than to do. Then he continued

“...If you work hard enough and assert yourself, and use your mind and imagination, you can shape the world to your desires. (151)”  HAHA, RIGHT! :D

And last sentences I stared is "It's not how much money we make that ultimately makes us happy between nine and five. It's whether or not our work fulfills us. Being a teacher is meaningful."

We are born to be student in every period. And in other period, we also be a teacher, because life is matter of  sustainability of life progress. To learn and to be learned. To teach and to be thought.
